Old fashioned 7 minute frosting




*ingredients:


°2 large unbeaten egg whites

°1 1/4 cup granulated sugar

°Half a cup of cold water

°1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar or 1 teaspoon corn syrup

°1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine the egg whites, sugar, water, and cream of tartar in the top of a double boiler. Mix well.

Place over boiling water and whisk constantly until mixture reaches peaks. This will take at least 7 minutes, but most likely closer to 10.

Remove from the fire.

Add the vanilla and whisk until it's thick enough to spread.

Makes 5-6 cups of frosting.
